OUR PRODUCTS
Air Media is a generic classification for a multitude of standard designed HVAC filtration models!
Air Media is a generic classification for a multitude of standard designed HVAC filtration models that can vary according to the requirements of the application. Variations of the product can be in color, thickness, gram weight per square foot, density of backing skin, and width and length dimensions. It can also be designed to include any or all of the following: applied dust adhesion enhancement products, bonded scrim backing, or bonded polyester backing materials. It is available in bulk roll form or at slight extra cost as pre-cut pad and blanket sizes packaged in our innovative, space saving vacuum sealed system.
Superior Fibers Air Media is customized by color, thickness, weight, density and dimensions.
Introducing the media with the memory. PolyStrand® from Superior Fibers.
PolyStrand® fibers are compressed prior to shipping, then return to normal size at installation time.
PolyStrand® is made of fibers that have been totally encapsulated in Polyb™ – an exclusive technology that results in an economical, high loft air filtration media that is gentle, soft and safe.
Polyb™ is the heart of the industry’s first true 100% fiber tackification process called TotalTac™, a dust-gathering substance permeating the entire media, stopping dust and improving efficiency.
PolyStrand® fibers are non-respirable because they are over 7 times larger in size than the 3.5 or lower micron size that is recognized to be able to enter the small airways of the lower respiratory tract.
PolyStrand® filter media is manufactured using recycled cullet materials.
All NESHAP (National Emissions Standards of Hazardous Air Pollutants) compliant painting operations that atomize liquid [paint] either by means of compressed air or high pressure dispersion from an application device held at a distance from a prepared surface, must be conducted in a controlled environment designed to prevent the escape of excess airborne paint droplets to the atmosphere. This is accomplished by controlling the airstream within the confined area and passing it through filtration products designed to remove any pollutants from the exhausting air. Three compliant designs, but not limited to these designs, commonly used to accomplish this control are:
- Downdraft spray booth exhaust filtration
- Side draft spray booth exhaust filtration
- Open front booth / Rear wall exhaust filtration
Specialty Applications

In addition to supplying glass fiber media for the air and paint filtration industry, Superior Fibers provides customized solutions engineered for specialty applications. These applications include:
- Light Diffusers for Daylighting Systems
- Lofted Fiberglass Reinforced Polyurethane Materials
- Railroad Bag Filters
- Roof Ridge Vents
Superior Fibers can engineer fiberglass for a variety of applications as a result of its technical resources, a strong R&D program and a comprehensive in-house testing lab.
Our media comes in lofts of .5” to 5” and weights from 3 grams to 45 grams per square foot and up.
